 A Guide to the One 2 One Speed Dating Experience
First and foremost, speed dating is FUN. Our events are as much for those looking to find a partner, as for those who just want to get to know new people. On one of our speed dating evenings you’ll have the chance to meet loads of fellow singletons in just one night, vastly increasing your chances of meeting someone you’d like to see again.
What to expect.
1. Book your ticket by calling or e-mailing us. We’ll then let you know when you can pay and collect your ticket.
2. Arrive with time to get yourself a drink and register with your hostess. She will supply you with a Matchcard and pen, along with your name-tag and table number.
3. After everyone has registered, your hostess will give a brief explanation of how the evening works, after which you will take your allocated seat. The ladies stay seated throughout, and the men move around. Experience has shown it works better this way.
Each mini-date lasts between 3 and 5 minutes, depending on the event. You’ll meet up to 25 other people with breaks at intervals to give you the chance to mingle, chat and refresh your drink.
As you complete your mini-dates make sure you fill in your Matchcard, adding a ‘date’ or ‘no thanks’ and making notes for yourself.
At the end of the night most people stay for a few drinks with the other participants they have just met. This is a great part of the evening so we really recommend you stick around for it.
Just to make things easier for you One 2 One can arrange for floral arrangements to be delivered to those that catch your eye. The flowers can be anonymous or accompanied by a handwritten note.
Remember, of course, to hand in your Matchcards before you leave!
